The US organization BIO (Biotechnology Innovation Organization), has published a new report, which positions Neol Bio, beside the main international companies of the sector, in the ranking of companies that are developing novel technologies for the production of chemicals from materials of biological origin. Neol Bio is the only Spanish company that appears in this ranking.

The report calls attention to the potential of this industry, which currently accounts for 9% of the €2,281 billion that represents the global chemicals market. The study estimates that sales of bio-based chemicals will reach around €400 billion in 2020 with an annual growth of 8% versus 4% of the whole chemical sector.

In particular, the report highlights the MicroBiOil® technology developed by Bio Neol for oil production with high value added and high productivity from renewable raw materials.
